Charming, erudite & politically savvy, with an intellect as brilliant as his palette, Anthony Holdsworth continues to delight with accurate visions of our beautiful Bay Area. In this exhibition we include paintings from earlier decades, illustrating his previous style and astonishing range. This is a visual feast by an accomplished and beloved artist. March 29, 2008 was declared "Anthony Holdsworth Day" in San Francisco!
He was recently seen painting on the corner of 10th & Washington in Oakland, standing at his easel, bantering with local folk. He said "I attempt to bring my own experience to the audience as directly and intensely as I can." - San Francisco Bay Guardian
Brenda Payton, in the S.F. Chronicle, reminds us, "You can find some of downtown's...well-known characters in several of his paintings... Holdsworth has been painting street scenes for 34 years."
